End of Year Campaign 2020

2021 brings an exciting lineup of classes and cultural events to Mukai!

Be part of the Mukai movement.
We need volunteers for Board & committee positions to preserve and celebrate the Mukai legacy through educational programs and cultural events.

Mukai Farm & Garden is listed on the National Register of Historic Places, is open every day and is Vashon's only public garden.

The Mukai Farm & Garden embodies the Japanese experience in America. This historic homestead is a cultural gathering place that celebrates the Japanese American and agrarian heritage of Vashon Island. It is a living tribute to immigrant struggles, successes, and social justice. In 2012, community activists came together to save the property, forming Friends of Mukai, a community based non-profit. Members have restored the farm and garden and are working on the Fruit Barreling Plant. On the National Register of History Places, Mukai may be the only preserved example of a pre-WWII Japanese American farmstead in America. The Mukai Farm & Garden is the only public garden on Vashon, open and free to the public 365 days a year.
