Milton Mukai, the grandson of B.D. and Sato Mukai, recently visited the Mukai Farm & Garden with his daughter Theresa and his grandson Roland to revisit the house, garden and fruit barreling plant from his childhood, and to witness our efforts to restore the site. Speaking to historian Bruce Haulman and Mukai board member Flo Lentz, Milton described the way the barreling plant operated and how the interior was arranged. This was the third interview with Milton conducted in a collaboration between Friends of Mukai and Voice of Vashon to record the history of the Mukai Family and the Mukai Farm & Garden.

Mukai Farm & Garden wouldn’t be where it is today without all the volunteers.
Sharing the photos of the property taken by one of our wonderful volunteers, Benno, yesterday before the rain started to come down. Big thank you to Benno for making a trip on the snowy day to make sure everything is okay out there.
Now the report says the roads are pretty bad with the rain coming down. Please stay safe, dry and warm, everyone! ... See MoreSee Less
